In March 2011, Chad, Meggie and Lou arrived in Sandpoint, bringing 16 years in the restaurant industry, recipes for their favorite dishes and a business plan for an American fare family restaurant. One month later, Sweet Lou's Restaurant and Bar opened its doors for the first season on beautiful Lake Pend Orielle in the Holiday Shores Marina in Hope.
In early 2012, eager to have an opportunity to share an enjoyable dining experience with even more guests, the Foust family announced that they were opening a second location in Ponderay, Idaho. On February 3, just in time to catch the Super Bowl, Sweet Lou's in Ponderay opened up with a full bar, a slightly larger menu with the addition of mussels, grilled shrimp and a few other delectable items, and the same dedication toward strong service and quality ingredients.
